about
The Draw is a love song about the magnetism between flawed individuals and the perceived certainty that we can find in each other. The video for The Draw features footage from the film “She Shoulda Said No!”, featuring Lila Leeds. The tragic story of the demise of Lila Leeds’s film career and her participation in the making of this exploitation film touches heavily on themes within the song about being pulled towards reckoning with uncomfortable truths that upset our worldview. And in the current cultural landscape where attitudes towards gender, representation and identity are in flux it is important to remember examples of tragic discrimination like that of Lila Leeds.”
lyrics
Your face is the moon,
And the tides of my love,
Are pulled from the flood and the chambers and the recesses of my heart,
I did not wander to you,
My senses were quick and true,
You are given to love,
Where scorn abounds,
Flown in embrace of the sum and the majesty of the world,
I did not wander to you,
My senses were quick and true,
And oh, though my mind is at flow,
I am drawn from the stream to you,
Drawn,
Drawn,
Drawn,
Drawn.

A record that has the power to remind you that, although you might feel like you're living at the edge of the future, the past has you by the balls. Beautiful stuff altogether. SLEEVEENS
